Mom, I see you!

After some healing time, MJ is happy to have her eyes and ears back.

Here is her sweet smile - and yes, her eyes are open. Both were very swollen, to say the least, and the left one was so swollen that it wouldn't even open. She laid on the couch watching a movie and when someone would lean close to her to see if she was sleeping or not, she'd yell in her whisper voice "move." By Thursday last week she woke up in the morning and said "Mommy, I see you. Miranda has two eyes". Then, on Friday as Ms. Chels and I unwrapped her head, she felt her ears and was very excited to tell us "I have two ears now". She wanted her earrings almost immediately.

We head back next week to have her JP drain removed. For now, she deals with it pinned to her shirt - something that she's used to and doesn't even complain about. This drain, however, goes in behind her ear and swirls up into the top of her head quite a ways. I'm thinking that might hurt a little when it comes out. As you can see, every scar she previously had has been cut out and re-stitched or glued. The thick scarring she had in front of her ear is gone and once the incisions heal, it looks like it will be much less pronounced - yea for her.

Last week...here would be MJ camping out - she wanted her sister to feed her crackers. Of course the big sister was more than happy to help. And her favorite game is Guess Who, and she would only get up to play this game - so we played! And yes, apparently she could see what she was doing.
