New Floors
We decided to tear out the old carpet from the main level three weeks ago and replace it with laminate flooring. We even took out the linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining area and the half-bath and garage entry areas.
After an exhaustive search of the local home centers and specialty flooring stores, we settled on Norwegian Wood.

The supplies.

The family room about half-way complete.

The family room, bathroom and garage entry completed.
Weekend #1 finished at 11:30 pm, Sunday.

Starting the kitchen and living room, weekend #2. I had to remove the refrigerator, stove and dishwasher to remove the subfloor underneath the linoleum flooring. Then re-install the appliances once the new floor was in place. This took all of Sunday. Plus, the whole kitchen and dining area required the planks to be glued to each other to prevent liquid from getting through the joints.

The finished product. (baseboards to be installed during a later weekend project)

Our next project will be to replace the carpet on the stairs going up to the bedrooms and the landing area with allergy friendly carpet. Basically, all of the berber carpet will be replaced.

looks fantastic!
Thanks. It wasn't all that hard, just time consuming.
Great choice! It goes nicely with all the colors in your house.
